oh my…. god

It’s impressive that these are paintings but calling them “North American Purgatory” feels like something Banksy would come up with.

My god…so many people purchase food items.…at places….like lambs to the slaughter

Rebloggim b/c this makes me recall something very ineteresting. I’ve also seen a lot of folks from these sorts of areas filled to the brim with chains like this referred to in a weird, unsettling purgatorial way, but there is a significant difference between that and this art.

Namely, that commentary-from-those-who-experience-it comes from a place of punching up at the depressing feeling of being trapped in sterility and the lack of economic mobility that often accompanies such, whereas stuff like this title is usually by upper-middle-class people who don’t have to live there punching down at the “sheeple” because they don’t have to rely on these places to survive.

For an example of punching up at this sort of purgatoriality, y’all need to look no less far than the dude I reblogged this from’s Noisy Tenant horror series…
